Hiking in the Korean mountains! You’re going to love it! – Bukhan san mountain

Bukhansan’s hiking trails start from different access points around Seoul, each reachable by subway and bus. Here’s how to get to the trailheads for Baegundae Peak, Dobongsan Ridge, and Ui-dong Valley.

🥾 1. Baegundae Peak Trail

  • Starting Point: Bukhansanseong Park Information Center

  • How to Get There :

    • Take Subway Line 3 to Gupabal Station, Exit 1

    • Walk ~20m to the bus stop and take Bus 704, 34, or 8772

    • Get off at Bukhansanseong (북한산성) stop (~17 min ride)

    • Walk straight, turn right at the first junction, and follow the road to the park entrance

  • Trail Info:

  • Difficulty: Moderate to Hard

  • Duration: 4–6 hours round trip

  • Pros: Highest peak in Seoul, panoramic views

  • Cons: Steep granite near summit, crowded on weekends

🧗 2. Dobongsan Ridge Trail

  • Starting Point: Dobongsan Park Information Center

  • How to Get There:

    • Take Subway Line 1 or 7 to Dobongsan Station, Exit 1

    • Cross the street and follow hikers ~20 minutes to the entrance

    • You’ll pass food stalls and hiking shops along the way

  • Trail Info:

  • Difficulty: Hard

  • Duration: 3–4 hours

  • Pros: Dramatic rock formations, quieter than Baegundae

  • Cons: Steep and rocky, requires good footing

🌲 3. Ui-dong Valley Trail

  • Starting Point: Bukhansan Ui Station (북한산우이역)

  • How to Get There:

    • Take Ui LRT to Bukhansan Ui Station, Exit 2

    • Walk ~5 minutes to the Seoul Hiking Tourism Center and trailhead

  • Trail Info:

  • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

  • Duration: 1–2 hours

  • Pros: Shaded streams, temples, family-friendly

  • Cons: Limited summit views

🎒 What to Bring

  • Shoes: Hiking boots or trail shoes

  • Water: 1–2 liters minimum

  • Snacks: Kimbap, fruit, energy bars
